Awkward Teenage Romance? Check! I also felt the ending was super predictable and at the end of it all, I just felt disappointed. Stay tuned for those reviews! The romance felt forced, like the author was checking something off of a YA trope checklist. But strange things start to happen there, and Briseis will learn dark secrets about her family as she attempts to root out the threat. I definitely read a couple of smutty romances when the pace in this book got too slow. However, the mechanisms that facilitate the repeated emergence, integration, and diversification of morphological novelties within this body region are virtually unknown. The insect head represents an ancient body region patterned by a deeply conserved developmental genetic network, yet at the same time constitutes a hot spot for morphological innovation. How novel traits integrate within ancient trait complexes without compromising ancestral functions is a foundational challenge in evo-devo. ![]() ![]() ![]() Every chapter is like a short story within a shared universe-and it’s a phenomenal universe.
